*Project Advisory: I-190 Lane Closures – Southbound Lanes***

    *What Is Happening?*

On Saturday October 28 and Sunday October 29, there will be temporary 
closures of the southbound lanes on the I-190 bridges over the 
Providence & Worcester Railroad to allow the Contractor to seal the 
southbound bridge deck. The I-190 southbound on-ramp from West Boylston 
Street will remain open throughout this operation.

Weather and unexpected circumstances make all construction activities 
subject to change, but we will do our best to keep you updated.

*Saturday October 28 *

*Details: *Two right lanes on**I-190 southbound closed between mile 
markers 0.7 – 1.6.**

*Time:*6:00 AM - 12:00 PM

*Sunday October 29 *

*Details: *Two left lanes on**I-190 southbound closed between mile 
markers 0.7 – 1.6.**

*Time:*6:00 AM - 12:00 PM

*Travel Tips*

Please take care to pay attention to all signage as it is posted. Police 
details, changes in lane markings, temporary controls such as barriers 
and traffic cones, signage, and other tools will be used throughout the 
project to control traffic and create safe work zones within the project 
limits. The reduction of I-190 travel lanes will result in 
higher-than-normal congestion, drivers should plan accordingly. Drivers 
traveling in both directions should expect delays.

*About the Project *

MassDOT is repairing and resurfacing the bridges carrying I-190 over the 
Providence & Worcester Railroad in Worcester, MA. In 2022, both the 
northbound and southbound bridges were resurfaced. Finishing tasks are 
currently underway.
