[HFDlist] Training Committee

Hello,

We work in an environment that is always changing; new technology, new  
science, new methods... For this reason, we need to be more proactive  
in our training to ensure we offer the best service we can to our  
citizens. As a member of the department training committee for the  
last 8 yrs, I have noticed things that I would like to change. For  
one, there are WAY too many people involved, too many different ideas  
that I feel sometimes just brings us back to doing the normal generic  
training. I want new ideas, new visions, so we can focus in on our  
weak areas and expand our current knowledge while making it interesting.

I am looking for 2-4 members, plus myself to make up a new committee.   
I am asking all interested members to email a letter of interest,  
detailing what you can bring to the table; previous training,  
experience and certifications, to me by Thursday June 1. They will be  
reviewed by C2 and myself on June 2. My goal is to have a meeting soon  
to start next years schedule. With that being said, starting January  
1, 2018 all trainings; On-duty, Full Department, EMS and Auxillary  
will be on 1 schedule and approved by the training committee.

We are fortunate to have alot of highly qualified individuals on this  
department. If you do not make the committee, don't be mad, you WILL  
still be utilized throughout the year for various trainings. This  
committee will be tasked with designing the training platform and then  
we will ask for help delivering the programs.
