[HFDlist] EMT CLASS at Anna Maria

Anna Maria will be hosting an EMT course in the Spring semester.  The 
course runs Tuesdays 18:00 - 22:00; Thursdays 18:00 - 22:00 and Saturday 
Labs 09:00 - 16:00 (though usually lets out around noon based on 
students grasp of the skills that week).  The course costs $950.  The 
class is taught by Ricci Hall, EMT-P/RN; Chief Sheri Bemis, EMT-P and 
Keith Ventimigula, EMT-P.  The course information is below:

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN-BASIC WITH LAB

lab required for this course- tuition is $ 950.00-Course description is: 
This basic training course prepares the student for testing leading to 
state certification as a licensed Emergency Medical Technician. The 
course familiarizes students with the overall objective of improving the 
quality of pre-hospital emergency care rendered to victims of accidents 
and sudden illness. Students gain key emergency skills applied in a 
variety of situations including trauma, cardiac emergency, and 
childbirth, and learn how to use and maintain common emergency 
equipment. The course includes lecture, laboratory and field 
experiences. The passing grade for the EMT-Basic class is 63%, or a 
grade of D. To be recommended for the state certification exam, students 
must have a course average of 77% and must successfully pass the final 
written and practical exams.
