*Project Advisory: I-190 Lane Closures ***

    *What Is Happening?*

During the month of October there will be temporary lane closures on the 
I-190 bridges over the Providence & Worcester Railroad to allow the 
Contractor to seal the northbound and southbound bridge decks. On 
Wednesday October 18 and Thursday October 19, the Contractor will be 
working in the northbound lanes. Later this month, they will be working 
in the southbound lanes.

Weather and unexpected circumstances make all construction activities 
subject to change, but we will do our best to keep you updated.

*Wednesday October 18 *

*Details: *Two left lanes on**I-190 Northbound closed between mile 
markers 0.2 – 0.8.**The Exit 1 off-ramp will remain open throughout this 
operation.

*Time:*6:00 AM - 2:00 PM

*Thursday October 19 *

*Details: *Two right lanes on**I-190 Northbound closed between mile 
markers 0.2 – 0.8.**The Exit 1 off-ramp will remain open throughout this 
operation.

*Travel Tips*

Please take care to pay attention to all signage as it is posted. Police 
details, changes in lane markings, temporary controls such as barriers 
and traffic cones, signage, and other tools will be used throughout the 
project to control traffic and create safe work zones within the project 
limits. The reduction of I-190 travel lanes will result in 
higher-than-normal congestion, drivers should plan accordingly. Drivers 
traveling in both directions should expect delays.

*About the Project *

MassDOT is repairing and resurfacing the bridges carrying I-190 over the 
Providence & Worcester Railroad in Worcester, MA. In 2022, both the 
northbound and southbound bridges were resurfaced. Finishing tasks are 
currently underway.
