   CLINICAL PARKING LOT IMPROVEMENTS:  UPCOMING PROJECT

    

   UMASS UNIVERSITY CAMPUS is beginning a construction project on  
Monday June 10 that continues for 6 months.  It will have varying  
degrees of impact on ambulance traffic-ED access.

    

    

    

    

   This project is scheduled to begin June 10th and will occur in four  
phases, with completion in November (Please see attached phasing  
drawings.)  Project work will include new waterproofing to the loading  
dock roof, paving, concrete sidewalks and islands, lighting, pavement  
markings and signage.

    

    

    

   As shown on the phasing plans, ambulance access to the Hospital  
will be maintained throughout the project but vehicle path to the  
entrance will be altered per phase.  Parking and access into the  
Clinical Lot will also change per phase. The construction work area  
will be secured with fencing and signage to direct pedestrian and  
vehicle traffic.  Police details will also be in place at the start of  
each phase to assist with traffic flow.
