Hello Everyone,

There have been a number of incidents in the last few months regarding
senior citizens with bad smoke/CO detectors in there homes. The fire
department receives an annual grant every year that helps provide
senior citizens with new detectors. The department is able to provide
(2) detectors per household. The department has both battery operated
combo detectors and hardwired combo detectors. The department is able
to install the battery operated detectors and can schedule a date and
time with the homeowner. The department should not be installing any
hardwired detectors and should advise the homeowner to contact a
licensed electrician for installation. The detectors are available
only to seniors who are currently living in town in single family
residences and are continuing to live in town. These detectors will
not be used for compliance with any residential sales. If you have any
questions, please feel free to contact me. Thanks for your time.
