[HFDlist] Engine 2 Truck Committee

Good Afternoon:

The Department is moving forward with the replacement of current  
Engine 2. Pending finance committee and town meeting approval in May,  
funding will be available in July for this purchase.

As spec'ing and purchasing a new piece of apparatus is a monumental task, we
would like to start the process by creating a truck committee now.
The truck committee will be comprised of 6-8 members, with both officers and
firefighters, and both career and call members. The process will be long and
involved- including outlining the needs of the department, meeting with
vendors and looking at demo trucks as well as visiting other departments,
creating a bid specification document, and monitoring the construction and
outfitting the truck.

If you are interested in partaking in this truck committee, please send me
an email with your interest; include any special skills or knowledge you may
bring to the committee.
