FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION OF MASSACHUSETTS

MAIN AREA: OBITUARY NOTICES

INFORMATIION REGARDING THE LODD DEATHS LT. EDWARD WALSH AND MICHAEL
KENNEDY, POSTED BY FCAMSECTREAS

The following messages were sent from Head Chaplain Mass. Corps of
Fire Service Chaplains and from President George Rogers yesterday
following the tragic loss in Boston of two fire service brothers.

At this time it is requested that all fire service personnel in the
Commonwealth show respect by using black badge covers on their
badges.

A request is being made to the Governor to lower the flags in honor
of Lt. Walsh and FF Kennedy. If that request is honored notice will
be posted and an email blast sent to the membership.

Funeral arrangements are in progress and notice on the particulars of
those arrangements will be posted as soon as they become available.

Keep the families of the Lt. Walsh and FF Kennedy in your prayers and
also the Boston Fire Department.

As many of you certainly know by now, the City of Boston lost two
heroes today. Fire Lieutenant Edward J. Walsh of Engine 33 and
Firefighter Michael R. Kennedy of Ladder 15 died fighting the nine
alarm fire that raged due to heavy wind conditions at 298 Beacon
Street in the Back Bay.

Boston Fire Chaplains have been involved with the families and
firefighters following this tragedy.

Please pray! Pray for the families of the fallen firefighters, and
their brothers and sisters in the fire service. Pray for those who
were injured, for several other firefighters, along with some police
officers were also injured in this fire. Thankfully, none of the
injuries seem to be life threatening, but some include serious burns.

Information about funeral arrangements will be passed along when it
becomes available.
