The following changes have been made due to receiving two more multi
gas meters from
grants...

Engine 3 now has a 5 gas MSA Altair meter. This is identical to the
meter that was in
Engine 1 previously, but includes a Hydrogen Cyanide sensor, used for
metering the fire
ground during overhaul, and any other time HCN may be present, such as
a chemical
suicide. This meter includes a sampling probe and tube, which is with
the meter should
you need it. The charger is not yet mounted in the truck, but will be soon.

Engine 1 also has a 5 gas MSA Altair meter, but Chlorine is the 5th
sensor. This is
mostly in case of an incident at the water treatment plant. This meter
also includes a
sampling tube. The charger is mounted in the rear of the cab where the
old 4 gas meter
was mounted.

The Tower has the 4 gas MSA Altair that was in Engine 1. This meter
will be updated to 5
gas at some point with the addition of hydrogen cyanide.

Engine 4 now has a single gas CO meter clipped to the officers side visor.

The multi gas meters will be calibrated roughly every 30 days at HQ
using our new
automated calibration system. Though this will only calibrate the
basic 4 gasses,
additions will be made soon to compensate for the chlorine and
hydrogen cyanide sensors.

Training at a future date will cover the proper operation of all of
these monitors. If
anyone has questions please see Lt. Smith or AC Hall. Thank you.
