Dear EMS Colleagues,

Attached please find updated documents regarding the Massachusetts
Department of Public Health's Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE)
sites. Remember that under the Statewide Point of Entry Plan for
Appropriate Health Care Destination Based on Patient's Specific
Condition and Need,
https://www.mass.gov/doc/statewide-point-of-entry-plan-for-appropriate-health-care-facility-destination-based-on-0/download,
EMS may transport to a more distant hospital in a number of
circumstances in which it would be more appropriate for addressing
the patient's needs, including because the hospital is a SANE
site.

The first attachment provides an overview of SANE services. The
second attachment, called Attachment A, lists the hospitals that
are designated as SANE sites to which EMS can transport in
accordance with this point of entry plan. The third attachment is
a list of FAQs for patients who need SANE services.

Thank you, and please enjoy a safe 4th of July weekend!
