As of 1:00pm today all the existing hydrants on Shrewsbury Street
between Main Street and Doyle Road are no longer in service. All
the homes and business' in the area are connected to the temporary
water main including the Urgent Care, Rite Aid and Dunkin Donuts
plaza which has maintained their fire protection system via the
temporary main. Any hydrants out of service will be bagged by the
end of the day. Please refer to Captain Poznanski's e-mail from
yesterday (sent by Leah) on the operation of the temporary
hydrants and the hydrants that are currently feeding the
temporary.
We have received reports from the residents in the area that the
pressure seems a bit higher than they are used to. Don't let that
fool you looking at the residual on your pump panel, it will drop
very quickly as more lines are opened.
If you have any questions let me know.
Thanks,
